1. Instrument Options
A) Acoustic Grand Piano (Preferred)

One (1) acoustic grand piano, minimum length 180 cm
Preferred models: Steinway B/O, Yamaha C3/C5, Bösendorfer 200 or similar -
Piano in excellent mechanical condition

Tuning: A = 440 Hz
-
Tuning required:
-
before rehearsal
-
before the performance (same day)
-
B) Upright Piano (Amplified Setup)
If no grand piano is available:
-
One (1) well-maintained upright piano
-
Must be amplified with a proper sound setup (venue engineer or artist’s technician)
-
Piano positioned away from reflective surfaces
-
Quiet environment (no HVAC noise)
2. Sound Requirements (Upright Option)
Option 1: Venue Sound Engineer
Venue must provide:

2 × condenser microphones (DPA 4011/4099, Neumann KM184, Schoeps MK4, AKG C414, etc.)
-
Mic stands + cabling
-
Mixing desk + quality preamps
-
PA suitable for intimate acoustic performance
-
Optional: pair of ambient mics
Conditions:

Minimal background noise
-
Proper gain structure
-
No compression/limiting unless agreed upon
-
Natural acoustic sound
Option 2: Artist’s Sound Engineer
If the venue cannot guarantee proper sound:

Artist may bring his own technician
-
Daily fee: €500 + travel + accommodation (if required)
Venue must provide:

PA system
-
Mixing desk
-
Microphone set (unless otherwise arranged)
-
Early access for setup and soundcheck
3. Stage Setup

Minimum stage area: 3 m × 3 m
-
Adjustable piano bench
-
Piano lid (grand) open half or full depending on acoustics

Soft, non-direct lighting
-
No stage monitors required
-
Recording or streaming only with written permission
4. Rehearsal
-
Minimum 60 minutes rehearsal time on stage

Quiet environment required
-
Piano must be tuned before rehearsal
5. Hospitality
-
One private dressing room
-
Still water (room temperature)
-
Light snacks (optional)
