Tommaso Farinetti - Helios [Neoclassical Piano / Solo Piano Music]

Helios, the sun, is described in the Homeric poems as the god who sees and hears everything. This calm and contemplative composition recalls our smallness in the face of the power of the sun.

Tommaso Farinetti - Eos [Neoclassical Piano / Solo Piano Music]

The early Dawn was born; her fingers bloomed” (Odyssey, Homer). After leafing through an old schoolbook, I sat at the piano playing this melody, inspired by the ancient goddess of the dawn, Eos, who travelled from east to west announcing the coming of the sun.

Tommaso Farinetti - Selene [Neoclassical Piano / Solo Piano Music]

Selene, the ancient Greek goddess of the moon, is described as driving a horse-drawn chariot across the night sky. The left hand in this neoclassical composition recalls her power to give sleep through soft movements, and the right hand gives light to the night with a melody.

...sofferte onde serene... Luigi Nono

…sofferte onde serene… Luigi Nono (1924–1990)

A poignant exploration of silent waves, an intimate journey through tension and calm,

where sound becomes a profound meditation on memory and time.
This video is a live recording from an important March 2017 concert

at the concert hall of the Städtische Musikschule in Munich.

I chose to perform this work, long one of my personal favorites, before an audience of young students to mark the 40th anniversary of its Italian premiere on 17 April 1977.

In this setting, the piano’s resonance and subtle tape recordings merge to create a fragile equilibrium, inviting the listener to dwell in moments of suspension and to experience the quiet intensity of Nono’s late style.

Sunrise concert at the tower Sektor F , Bavaria

Sunrise Concert at the Tower, Sektor F, Bavaria
Music by Gurdjieff/Hartmann

A unique open-air performance held atop the iconic Sektor F observation tower in the Bavarian Forest.

This concert offers a serene fusion of ambient piano and natural sounds, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the forest at dawn.

Bringing a full grand piano to the summit was an adventure in itself, a feat of planning and teamwork that heightened the sense of occasion.

As the first light appeared, we watched the sun slowly emerge through a veil of clouds,

the sky and the music descending over us like a gentle mantle.

From the tower’s panoramic vantage point, every note mingled with the hush of the morning air,

creating an atmosphere of rare intensity,a perfect union of music, nature, and the quiet wonder of sunrise.

Most striking of all, this performance unfolded just steps from the former border of the Soviet Union, where East once met West.

The music of Gurdjieff and Hartmann: rooted in both Western and Eastern traditions, resonated with this location,

embodying a dialogue between cultures and histories at the very edge of two worlds.
